About NTCR
North Toronto Cat Rescue (NTCR) is a registered Canadian Charity (No. 83607 9673 RR0001) that specializes in improving our community by focusing on one very specific task – we rescue cats and kittens that have been discarded, abandoned and/or were born in the wild. We are a cage-free, no-kill shelter that is 100% volunteer based.
In our 37+ years of operation, we have trapped, socialized, cared for and rehomed over 4000 stray cats, many of which might have otherwise been euthanized by other organizations, but instead are given a second chance to live out happy, healthy lives until they find a fur-ever home with their new family.
We offer cats and kittens for adoption in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

We’ve rescued and re-homed over 4000 cats since 1988. We are proud to be trusted in the feline rescue community, offering specialized care that includes behavior support, enrichment programs, and continued assistance for adopters. Our organization is solely driven by the dedication of our volunteers to the health and happiness of every cat.
Our Values
No Kill.
We are a safe haven where every cat is treated like family. No matter how long they stay with us, they receive the highest quality care and endless devotion. Whether they arrive with FeLV, FIP, FIV or kidney disease, every cat here receives the love and care they need to thrive until the day they find their furever home.
Most of our rescues come to us from the streets after being evicted or born into neglect. They arrive feeling hopeless, having endured abuse, injuries and even poisoning; only to find their first taste of safety with us
No Cage.
For some of our rescues, we are their home for many years. Our cage-free philosophy ensures they live with total freedom, just like any cherished pet. Here, they learn to ‘play nice’ with both humans and fellow rescues, soaking up a life of comfort while they wait for their furever families. We take great care to match every cat with their perfect roommates, ensuring they spend their days surrounded by their very best friends.
